Coming into their first Chagrin Valley Conference game with a 3-0-0 record, the Hawks dominated play against Orange, winning 4-2. The lions now stand at 2-2-0. Unable to even kick a soccer ball until the Gilmour game due to knee surgery last spring, David Nelson scored against both the Lancers on the 24th (his first game back), and the Lions earlier today. The boys get a well deserved break until September 9th when they face NDCL at home. Play begins at 5pm.

Girls Soccer Beats Talented NDCL Team
Throughout the past four years, the girl's soccer program has solidified its status as a team that should not be ignored by any competitor. That status of competitors just "taking note" of the squad is no longer satisfying. The girls desire to be feared by every opponent they face; and by their tenacious start of the regular season, the Hawks are living up to their new-found status.
On Saturday, August 27th, the girls traveled to NDCL to play the lions. With their personnel, size, and talent, NDCL has has solidified themselves to be known as one of the biggest competitors in the Chagrin Valley Conference. The lion's reputation on defense was tarnished by freshman Bianca Mendancic and senior captain Nicole Berry. Mendancic scored 2 goals, while Nicki scored 1, leading the Hawks to a 3-1 victory. The girls our now 3-0-0 for the season. The soccer team travels to Kenston on September 1st. Start time is 7pm.
Courtnery Yoke (Jr.): 1 assist
Cailin Connor (Sr.): 1 assist
Sydney Hanzlick (Jr.): 7 saves
